As 2024 draws to a close, we take this opportunity to reflect on the strides made this year in advancing the rights of small-scale fishers in South Africa. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and solidarity to this vital work.
This year marked many milestones for Masifundise and Coastal Links, including hosting the first-ever National Fisher People Tribunal and the Fisher People’s Conference. These actions would not have been possible without the commitment and contributions of our communities and partners. Your support exemplifies the spirit of “No man is an island,” reminding us that the fight against injustice thrives on collective action, organizing and mobilizing across all sectors.
