The time has dawned for the implementation of the Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF) policy. After almost ten years of organisation, mobilisation, advocacy, disappointment, frustration, protest, persuasion and solidarity the SSF policy has been adopted and a plan is in place to implement it.
The implementation will not be simple. In fact, it may be the hardest period of our struggle. It depends on quick and efficient action from government and goodwill from the private sector. Very importantly, it also depends on our own readiness, dedication and commitment to working for the common good.
